What We Value
What We Value...
Truth
We value truth and believe it most perfectly exists in the person and work of Jesus Christ the living Word of God. Therefore, while we believe commentary can be a useful teaching tool, we will always equate seeking and knowing truth with seeking and knowing God through the sacrifice of Christ as we believe that truth is a person and not a doctrine.
Excellence
We value doing things as well as possible and pursuing excellence as the only appropriate way to honor God in everything we do. Therefore, whether in our printed materials, corporate worship elements, community interaction or our daily lives we will seek to do things as well as possible.
People
We value people more than programs or facilities, as we believe this is in keeping with the priorities of Jesus. Therefore we will seek to ensure that programs are life-giving instead of life-taking and that any facilities serve the church and community in real and tangible ways. We will further-more focus on the inner transformation of people and believe that external remodeling is superficial at best and doesn’t last. We will stand up for people in our community in an effort to earn the right to share Christ as we believe that in order for people to hear Christ in us they must first see Christ in us!
Co-Authorship
We value the creation that comes from joining our lives together with each other and with God and believe that good times are better and bad times become bearable when we experience true community. Therefore we will battle seeking the good things that can come individualistically and seek to do the truly great things that are only birthed from a team. When others are given creative control of our shared journey the risk increases exponentially, but the risk is worth it for the chance at greatness and the opportunity of doing life together.
The World
We value those who are needy and those who need Christ as a priority over the preferences and desires of those who are already followers of God and believe that Jesus modeled that we are to serve over being served. Therefore we will always choose to offend the believer over alienating the lost in an effort to engage real people and the real world with the transformational message of the deep love of Christ.
