What We Do...
We will accomplish our vision by seeking to be a community that participates in;
Soulful Worship
While we appreciate energy and entertainment as part of Christian community, we want to infuse our experiences and living with a substance that transcends enthusiasm for enthusiasm’s sake. We want to bring a serious and thoughtfulness to our actions that is both appropriate and necessary when dealing with matters of eternal importance. This is in no way to the exclusion of fun and excitement but rather we believe this will enhance our continual joy and passion with a real and sustainable depth and energy that comes from taking God seriously and caring deeply for the things that matter most to Him!
Community Engagement
I believe that there is a pervading, somewhat justified belief that Christians and churches behave much like used car salesmen pedaling their faith, but do little by way of supporting their words with their actions or positive involvement in the community. We believe that we must earn the right to share Christ verbally and that it is inconsistent with the teaching of Jesus to try to talk someone into your belief system without loving and caring for them in practical ways as well. We want to have a strong and ongoing community presence, consistently meet felt needs and be representatives for Christ wherever we find ourselves.
Real Life Growth
I believe that true spiritual growth takes place as we engage the journey of our lives with a focus on God. The problem with a growth strategy that is solely “class” or “steps” based is that it teaches people that once they arrive at a certain place they are finished, when in reality being a follower of Jesus lasts forever. While a class or program can be important along the journey, we will focus on relationship and adventure-based elements in order to achieve spiritual growth. One of the most tragic things is to hear Christians speak of needing a deeperprogram just for themselves, when the very pattern of Christ showed us that the best action to take would be to walk with someone who was not experienced in the journey, teaching and learning together how to continue to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and see His miraculous strength perfects our weakness. Real life growth can take place where we live, work and play! The thing that can transform jobs, relationships and hobbies into wonderful ministry and growth opportunities is simply being intentional about helping those who are unconnected with God and His church to make that connection!
Church Planting
The climate of this district, the generosity of the churches and the passion in my heart to see new Christian communities birthed makes it irresponsible not to participate in a church multiplication movement! The deep will participate with the district and area churches to see new churches planted! We will assist with the building of laborers so that together we can plant more churches faster and see more people experience the deep love of Christ!
